Following RX-93 ν Gundam and GN-001 Gundam Exia, the new "Mobile Suit Gundam" themed gashapon toy "MS MECHANICAL BUST", released by Japan's Bandai Namco Toys & Hobby's GASHAPON brand, recently announced that its third installment will feature the protagonist mobile suit Gundam Aerial from "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury". The release date is yet to be determined.
The XVX-016 Gundam Aerial is a mobile suit produced by Shin Sei Development Corporation on Mercury. It was developed under the leadership of President Prospera and piloted by her daughter, Suletta Mercury. Suletta has been with Gundam Aerial's onboard AI since childhood, considering it a family member. Compared to typical GUND-ARM units, this machine possesses many powerful, yet-to-be-unraveled functions, including the ability to hack GUND-Format countermeasures. When piloted by Suletta, it can unleash peak mobile suit performance. Its armaments include a beam saber, beam rifle, and shield. The shield can separate into 11 "GUND-Bits", which can not only be used as remotely controlled all-range wireless weapons "Funnels", but also connect to various points on the body and the beam rifle, serving as equipment to enhance mobility and firepower.
The "MS MECHANICAL BUST" series transforms mobile suits from the "Gundam" series into exquisite bust gashapon products. Its design concept is similar to the previously released INTEGRATE MODEL Mazinger Z busts, but with a smaller size and a more simplified design. The product consists of two parts: the "exterior" with high-density detailed sculpting, and the "internal mechanism" which combines precise construction with a light-up feature. Once collected, the exterior parts can be attached to the internal mechanism to assemble a Gundam bust approximately 10 cm tall.
Currently, only the in-development CAD model for the third installment, "Gundam Aerial", has been released. It showcases rich armor lines and detailed sculpting on the head and chest armor, recreating its elegant, geometrically composed lines. However, what's most intriguing is how the light-up sections on the forehead and above the chest armor, formed by complex lines, will be rendered.
