Bandai Candy, the Shokugan division of Bandai Co., Ltd. Japan, has once again announced the latest product in the 'SHODO SUPER' series, which condenses excellent sculpting, articulation, and paintwork into a palm-sized 10 cm figure. The new release, themed after Super Sentai, is 'Gosei Sentai Dairanger', scheduled for release in June 2023.
'Gosei Sentai Dairanger' is the 17th installment in the 'Super Sentai' series, which aired in 1993. Influenced by the popularity of fighting games at the time, this work developed its themes based on Chinese culture and Chinese martial arts. The story is set in a world where the ancient civilization 'Daos Empire' once existed. 8000 years ago, the Daos Empire was co-ruled by the 'Gorma Tribe,' who wielded demonic power, and the 'Dai Tribe,' who excelled in Qigong, and they dominated the 'Shura Tribe,' the ancestors of humans without special abilities. However, the rigid and dictatorial Gorma Tribe sought to rule the peace-loving Dai Tribe, leading to a conflict that lasted nearly 6000 years. This ultimately led to the decline of the empire and the weakening of both tribes, giving the formerly subjugated Shura Tribe the opportunity to forge a new civilization!!
The 'SHODO SUPER Gosei Sentai Dairanger' set includes articulated figures of six warriors: Ryuu Ranger, Shishi Ranger, Tenma Ranger, Kirin Ranger, Houou Ranger, and Kiba Ranger. Not only are they meticulously painted to recreate their on-screen appearances, but their necks, chests, and limbs also feature articulated joints. The accessories for each character are extensive, including numerous interchangeable hands, common weapons, character-specific weapons, and large combined attack weapons, allowing fans to recreate the six heroes' cool roll calls, dynamic entrances, and battle poses!
