Prime 1 Studio, a Japanese toy brand renowned for producing high-quality character statues, under its new ACG character brand series "PRISMA WING", is scheduled to release a 1/7 scale statue scene product featuring "Hyakunosuke Ogata" from the popular series 《Golden Kamuy》, which concluded its serialization this year. The release is slated for between November 2023 and January of the following year!
《Golden Kamuy》（ゴールデンカムイ）, created by Satoru Noda, began serialization in "Weekly Young Jump" in 2014. The anime adaptation started airing in April 2018, and the manga serialization concluded in June 2022, with the anime currently airing its fourth season. The story primarily follows the protagonist, Saichi Sugimoto, nicknamed "Immortal Sugimoto," who, after his military discharge, travels to Hokkaido to earn a large sum of money to cure his friend's wife. There, he forms a bond with the Ainu girl Asirpa and learns of rumors of a massive treasure of gold. The two then embark on a journey, encountering many others along the way, leading to an unprecedented gold rush.
In the original work, Hyakunosuke Ogata is a profound and solitary individual with exceptional sniping abilities, known as "The Lone Lynx." He participated in the Russo-Japanese War and originally served under Lieutenant Tsurumi, but harbored ulterior motives. Throughout his pursuit of gold, he frequently changed allegiances and betrayed others. Deep within him lay shadows from his family background and the guilt of killing his relatives. Tormented by his subconscious, he ultimately suffered a mental breakdown and committed suicide.
This PRISMA WING Hyakunosuke Ogata figure depicts him in his military uniform with an overcoat draped over him, sitting on a snow-covered rock. In his right hand, he holds his preferred Type 38 rifle, while binoculars for observation and his personal satchel are placed beside him. Ogata's expression, true to the original work, is calm and largely unmoving, yet his eyes gaze forward with profound intensity. Fans of Golden Kamuy may consider adding this to their collection.
