UA Monsters Gigan (1972) Statue Featuring Classic Debut Appearance, Equipped with Light-Up and Roaring Mechanisms, Announced!

Released by Japanese model maker MEGAHOUSE, the monster statue series "UA Monsters", known for its impressive large size and sound and light mechanisms, recently announced the commercialization of a new product, "Gigan (1972)", to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Toho's popular monster "Gigan". The release date is yet to be determined.

Toho's monster Gigan first appeared in the 1972 film "Godzilla vs. Gigan". In the film, this version of Gigan is a cyborg monster created by the M Space Hunter Nebula Aliens to invade Earth, transforming a space dinosaur. Its entire body is equipped with fierce weapons, including a laser beam cannon on its head, a heat ray fired from its mouth, scythe-like giant hammer hands, and a rotating blade on its abdomen. Gigan's actions could be controlled by signals sent from the "Godzilla Tower" located at their base.

The "UA Monsters Gigan (1972)" currently only has a development prototype released. The overall sculpt faithfully reproduces the suit's appearance from the film, meticulously detailing the mechanical-looking electronic eyes, the sharp blade-like parts across its body, as well as the skin texture that repurposed King Ghidorah's scales from the original suit, and its dorsal wings. It is also planned to be equipped with light-up and roaring sound mechanisms, so fans can look forward to the statue's head emitting a red glow and its classic roar!
