Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya recently announced that the latest product designed by illustrator Nidy-2D- for their popular mecha girl themed plastic model kit series, 『Megami Device』, "Asra Nine-Tails/Tamamonomae Second Season Reappearance Style (Tentative Name)," is currently in development, with a release date yet to be determined.
Asra Nine-Tails / Asra Tamamonomae are, in their settings, enhanced models developed from Asra Ninja / Asra Archer respectively. Nine-Tails incorporates additional armor and weaponry inspired by the mythical beast "Nine-Tailed Fox," significantly increasing its overall defense and weight, while possessing aerial mobility comparable to air combat-type Megami. Tamamonomae, on the other hand, is an electronic warfare specialized model equipped with EMP weaponry and ECCM equipment to interfere with enemies, and can also deploy two small fox-type drones for attack.
The design concept for the Second Season Reappearance Style (Tentative Name) announced this time seems to be closer to a light equipment form. While it's uncertain if there will be additional armor parts, the base body's overall armor coverage is significantly less than the previous works. According to Nidy-2D-, the design incorporates elements such as functional clothing and yukata gal styles. Aside from differing head sculpts and color schemes, the body and costume designs for both models are fundamentally the same.
