Japan's Bandai Toy Company's gashapon toy brand GASHAPON officially announced in 2022 a new gashapon product line, "Mobile Suit Gundam CAPSULE ACTION". Following the upcoming release of "RX-78-2 Gundam", the prototype for the second installment, "Zaku II", was recently revealed. Release date is TBD.
The new "CAPSULE ACTION" series transforms mobile suits from the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series into highly articulated models approximately 9 cm tall. The overall design features more layered, high-density details compared to the original settings, with paintwork reproducing the various colors and body markings for a more refined texture. The neck, waist, and limbs all feature a good standard of articulated joint design, allowing for dynamic posing with the included weaponry.
The recently revealed classic Gundam antagonist mobile suit, the Zeon army's main mass-produced unit during the One Year War, the "Zaku II", not only faithfully recreates its heavy armor design with smooth curves but also incorporates appropriate and cool detailed styling. Its full-body joints also feature flexible articulation, allowing for a variety of combat poses. As for weaponry, it is expected to include the Zaku Machine Gun, Heat Hawk, and Zaku Bazooka, among others, though the weapons appear slightly large in proportion to the main body.
