Japanese model manufacturer Sentinel's popular die-cast action figure series 'RIOBOT' today officially announced the latest product from 'Super Robot Wars OG', the 'Shura God IALDABAOTH', scheduled for release in October 2023.
Appearing in 'Super Robot Wars OG', the original unit Shura God is a semi-biological weapon used by the Rakshasa Shura, a warrior race from the alternate world 'Shura Realm'. It is categorized into four ranks based on its aura: Retsu-kyu (Fierce Rank), Gou-kyu (Roaring Rank), Super, and Ten-kyu (Heavenly Rank). Among these, only those chosen by the Shura God in a ritual are qualified to pilot a Gou-kyu unit, which absorbs the pilot's 'Haki' (life force) as its power source. While seemingly cruel, this is natural for the Shura who believe in the survival of the fittest. This method allows for a deeper connection with the Shura, and as the pilot's spirit grows, it can trigger the 'Shinka' (Divine Transformation) phenomenon, greatly enhancing the Shura God. The IALDABAOTH being released this time is the Gou-kyu Shura God piloted by Folka Albark, the protagonist of 'COMPACT3'.
The 'RIOBOT Shura God IALDABAOTH' is an action figure crafted from composite materials including ABS, PVC, PA, POM, and die-cast parts, standing approximately 23 cm tall. Sculptor Zhao Pinglai faithfully recreates the wild mechanical hair and the robust, human-muscle-like limbs from the original design, with the ends of each part sharply sculpted to convey a more aggressive image. The armor is finished in metallic red to express its fierce crimson hue, while the mechanical hair features a pearl coating. Different paint applications are used throughout the body to showcase varied textures.
All movable joints throughout the body, including the elbows, knees, hip joints, and feet, are made with die-cast parts, offering a highly flexible range of motion and a substantial feel when handled. Coupled with the powerful muscular lines across its body, it can strike incredibly dynamic poses such as powerful straight punches, uppercuts, and overhead high kicks. Each finger joint on both hands and the base of the massive mechanical hair also feature articulation, allowing for more intricate movements. Notably, the mechanical hair is made from lightweight ABS material and utilizes gear-meshing ratchet joints for enhanced strength. Furthermore, an interchangeable 'Hadoukou' (Surging Roar) right arm part is included as an accessory, allowing for the recreation of its ultimate attack, the 'Gouha Kishin Ken' (Roaring Machine God Fist)!
