Recently, following the official announcement of Toei's flagship tokusatsu series "Super Sentai"'s latest work, "Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger" (tentative translation, Japanese: 王様戦隊キングオージャー), which is set to broadcast in March 2023, various in-show settings and new toy product information have been successively released. Among them, two highly anticipated DX toys from Bandai Japan, the main robot "DX King-Ohger" and "DX God Kabuto", are also scheduled for release in March 2023.
The latest work, "Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger," is the "Super Sentai" series' first team to feature insects as its design theme and the first where all members are monarchs. Kuwagata Ohger (Red), Tombo Ohger (Blue), Kamakiri Ohger (Yellow), Papillon Ohger (Purple), and Hachi Ohger (Black) are monarchs governing different nations. To combat the enemy "Underground Empire" attacking Earth, they gather here and fight side-by-side. Using the "Ohger Calibur" and "Ohger Shield," which are both symbols of their kingship and their transformation devices, they transform into Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger to battle. The guardian deities of each nation, "Insect-type Mechanical Lifeform Guardian Gods," also come to assist the monarchs, capable of combining into the strongest robot, "King-Ohger"!
This "DX King-Ohger" perfectly recreates the in-show transformation mechanism where 10 Insect Guardian Gods combine. After God Kuwagata transforms into the main articulated torso, it then combines with God Tombo, God Kamakiri, God Papillon, God Hachi, two God Ladybugs, two God Spiders, and God Ant to form a cool and imposing giant robot. Standing approximately 27 cm tall, it features over 20 points of articulation, and its detailed sculpting depicts intricate mechanical structures.
As for "DX God Kabuto," its shell parts are finished with luxurious gold plating. Its entire body, including legs, wings, and horn, features multiple points of articulation, allowing for dynamic attack poses. It also boasts a cool transformation mechanism, capable of transforming into the powerful 40 cm long weapon "Kabuto Cannon," which can be mounted on King-Ohger's right arm to form "Kabuto King-Ohger"!
