Japanese model manufacturers Good Smile Company and Max Factory's joint corporate booth, 'WONDERFUL HOBBY LIFE FOR YOU!!', held in conjunction with each Wonder Festival model exhibition, is set to host its 36th event on February 12th this year. Good Smile Company's plastic model kit series, 'MODEROID', recently announced that the event-exclusive product, "AV-X0 Zero NYPD Ver.", will be available for limited sale at the event booth and the GOODSMILE Online Shop.
Appearing in the theatrical film "Patlabor: The Movie", the AV-X0 Zero is a next-generation prototype police Labor developed by Shinohara Heavy Industries, serving as the successor to the Ingram series. In addition to significantly enhanced body strength, the Zero also incorporates the new "HOS" system, making its movements more efficient and improving reaction speed. It can engage in close-quarters combat with its bare hands even without weapons, capable of piercing other Labors with just its fingers. Its performance is considerably excessive for a police Labor. This unit was originally slated for deployment to Special Vehicles Section 2, but after the HOS runaway incident, it was recalled and thoroughly modified.
This limited edition "MODEROID AV-X0 Zero NYPD Ver." represents the standard specifications deployed to the New York City Police Labor unit after comprehensive modifications. Based on the previously released regular version kit, the parts' molded colors have been replaced to reproduce the distinctive blue outer armor. Some parts also feature new painted colors, which can be used with the included color-correcting stickers and waterslide decals to more closely match the design's aesthetic. The armaments include a shield and parts to recreate the cool combat move "Nukite" (piercing hand strike). Furthermore, due to shared parts, the head-mounted deployable scanner, which should have been abolished in this specification, can still be represented through interchangeable parts.
