"Panda! Go, Panda! (パンダコパンダ)", released in Japan in 1972, was directed by animation master Isao Takahata, with Hayao Miyazaki handling the original concept and screenplay. The story follows Mimiko, a girl who has lived with her grandmother since childhood. When her grandmother goes out to attend a funeral, Mimiko is left alone at home. Unexpected visitors arrive: Papanda, a talking baby panda, and Papa Panda! Mimiko plays house with the pandas, taking on the role of Papanda's mother. The two pandas and one human form a strange yet happy family.
