Released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, the "S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou)" series, which sculpts figures starting from the skeletal structure to recreate the physique of tokusatsu hero actors, has officially announced its latest product, "Kamen Rider Faiz," scheduled for release in August 2023, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Toei's tokusatsu work "Kamen Rider 555," which aired in 2003.
Mainly transformed by the protagonist Takumi Inui, Kamen Rider Faiz is a special combat-enhanced suit formed by the "Gear" device developed by SmartBrain. Its head features a "Φ" shape, and vibrant red Photon Blood flows through the Photon Frames covering its entire body, emitting a dazzling glow in the dark. Only Orphnochs capable of controlling Photon Blood are qualified to transform. Its most iconic finishing move is the "Crimson Smash" kick, which injects Photon Blood into the Faiz Pointer equipped on the leg. While Faiz's default output is limited for safety considerations, it boasts superior weapon expandability and can temporarily release output restrictions to switch to 'Axel Form'.
The "S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou) Kamen Rider Faiz" thoroughly recreates the robust physique of suit actor Seiji Takaiwa from the series, appearing more realistic compared to the slender and muscular build of the standard S.H.Figuarts version. Through precise sculpting, details such as the compound eyes resembling headlights, the silver-white armor, and the mechanical structure of the belt are crafted, and vibrant colors are applied to reproduce the metallic texture of the armor and the vivid red Photon Blood flowing throughout the body.
The overall articulation inherits the technology cultivated by the S.H.Figuarts series, featuring flexible movable joints in the neck, torso, and limbs, allowing for dynamic punching and kicking poses. The shoulder armor, which was previously fixed to the arm in earlier versions, now adopts a new design connected to the body, enabling more natural arm movements. The ankle armor is made of soft material to reduce articulation interference.
Regarding weapon accessories, the Faiz Phone, Faiz Pointer, and Faiz Shot all come in two sizes: one for attachment to the belt and one for handheld use, allowing for the recreation of various forms, such as the Phone Blaster used as a weapon. The Faiz Phone for the belt also features an unfolding mechanism, enabling the recreation of the "EXCEED CHARGE" scene during the execution of a finishing move, complete with the signature crouching pose!
