Japanese capsule toy manufacturer Kitanklub (キタンクラブ) is set to release a rather interesting animal-themed capsule toy series in May 2023: "Food Zoo" (tentative translation, たべものZOO)!
Based on the concept of "A delicious zoo, now open!", "Food Zoo" transports animals that would typically thrive in the wild onto dining tables and plates. By combining animals with various foods and desserts, this series creates "Animal Foods" that are not only edible and ornamental but also incredibly cute! The lineup includes "Strawberry Gorilla," "Noodle Dog," "Croquette Cat," "Fried Egg Turtle," and "Slush Penguin," each standing approximately 4 cm tall. While the distinctive animal features remain prominent, the addition of elements like strawberry stems, golden egg yolks, and croquette sauce makes the overall design even more captivating. Paired with real food, these figures are sure to inspire incredibly fun photos! Moreover, the Japanese names for each capsule toy are remarkably clever.
