Japan's renowned toy manufacturer MEDICOM TOY, under its "BE@RBRICK" collectible series, which reinterprets major IP characters with unique designs and attracts numerous toy collectors and trendsetters, will launch an E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial-themed "E.T. Light Up Version"! A "100% & 400% Set" and a colossal "1000%" will be released simultaneously, with shipments expected to begin in August 2023.
The 1982 science fiction film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial tells the story of a kind alien, "E.T.", stranded on Earth, who befriends a boy named "Elliot". It is lauded as "the greatest science fiction film of all time"; E.T.'s glowing long finger is his signature feature (and of course, we can't forget those hilarious disguises), and the classic line from the film: E.T. PHONE HOME. became incredibly popular at the time.
This BE@RBRICK piece, incorporating elements from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, features a night sky as its main theme. The head is printed with the classic scene from the movie – Elliot riding his bicycle with E.T. flying into the sky – along with towering trees and a giant moon. The chest area is made of transparent material, and with the moon, the printed palms of Elliot and E.T.'s hands, and the light-up function, it can recreate the appearance of the film's main visual, making it highly collectible.
