The 1/144 scale Gunpla 'HG (HighGrade)' series, known for its diverse range of mobile suits and produced by the HOBBY Division of BANDAI SPIRITS, Japan, today announced the latest product from 'Mobile Suit Gundam Wing', the "HG 1/144 Gundam Deathscythe Hell", scheduled for release in May 2023. This product will be exclusively sold on Bandai's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The XXXG-01D2 Gundam Deathscythe Hell is an enhanced mobile suit secretly improved by the Gundam developers after recovering the heavily damaged Gundam Deathscythe. In addition to enhancing its spatial maneuverability for space combat, it features a special "Active Cloak" armor on its back, resembling bat wings, to bolster its defense and stealth capabilities. Like its predecessor, it can evade radar tracking using its high-performance jammer and launch attacks with its "Twin Beam Scythe".
The "HG 1/144 Gundam Deathscythe Hell" is based on the previously released Gundam Deathscythe kit, utilizing numerous new parts to recreate its overall enhanced armor design and the distinctive "Active Cloak" special armor on its back. The head sculpt, in particular, features a precise part separation design, allowing the characteristic white line decorations on the visor to be reproduced solely through the molded part colors, without the need for stickers.
The Active Cloak is composed of 6 armor parts and can rotate in multiple directions thanks to its multi-axis support structure, recreating its devil-wing silhouette during combat and its defensive posture when enveloping the upper body. For weaponry, new parts are used to create the "Twin Beam Scythe" and "Buster Shield". The Twin Beam Scythe can be fitted with two beam effect parts to display its activated state, or an alternative stowed state part can be used to hang it on the rear skirt armor. The Buster Shield features two interlocking blades at the front that can deploy and also be fitted with beam effect parts.
