Even if there's no justice on Earth, it will continue to spin! Japanese toy company Good Smile Company's best-selling "Nendoroid" (ねんどろいど) toy series will release a Nendoroid figure of the protagonist "Revy" from the popular gangster-style anime and manga series 《BLACK LAGOON》 in August 2023!
The work 《BLACK LAGOON》, created by Rei Hiroe, began serialization in Shogakukan's 《Monthly Sunday Gene-X》 in 2002, with the anime first airing in 2006 and currently having three seasons. The story primarily describes the protagonist, Rokuro Okajima, who was originally an ordinary salaryman. Due to his company's dishonorable dealings, he became embroiled in conflicts with gangsters, only to be betrayed by his company and left for dead. Disheartened by humanity, he decided to join the "Black Lagoon Company" (Black Lagoon商會), who rescued him, and changed his name to "Rokku" (a nickname for the Japanese Rokuro "rokkurou", also translated as "Rock" due to its Japanese pronunciation being similar to the English word "Rock"). He restarts his life in the fictional Thai coastal city of "Roanapur", using his past experiences to provide ideas and various professional knowledge to the team. The story of his encounters with various local factions then unfolds.
▼《BLACK LAGOON》20th Anniversary PV:
Revy is the protagonist of this work, a Chinese-American whose real name is Rebecca. She is a member of the Black Lagoon Company, and her standard attire consists of a black vest paired with denim hot pants. While she possesses considerable charm, her personality is quite fiery. Due to her proficiency in combat with two silver Beretta pistols, she earned the underworld moniker "Two-Hand". Having survived under gunfire since childhood, she has engaged in all sorts of illicit activities and possesses formidable skills. A realist who values money, she often finds Rokku's ideas too naive and idealistic, yet she gradually grows to care for him.
This Nendoroid Revy faithfully recreates her appearance from the original work, including her ponytail hairstyle and the tattoo on her right shoulder. She comes with three face plates: a smiling face, a combat face, and a serious face with a cigarette in her mouth. As for accessories, she includes her beloved twin guns, two silver Beretta "Sword Cutlass" (Revy's affectionate nickname), and the "M79 Grenade Launcher" that famously blew up a ship in the original story. Combined with other hand parts, you can pose her in various cool combat stances from the original work.
