PLEX Co., Ltd. (Japan) and X-PLUS Co., Ltd. have announced the latest product from their gigantic soft vinyl figure series, "GIGANTIC SERIES," known for its intricate details and immense size. The new release, "Burning Godzilla (1995) Final Battle Ver." from "Godzilla vs. Destoroyah," is scheduled for release in May 2023.
The Godzilla featured in this release is from "Godzilla vs. Destoroyah," the final installment of the Heisei VS series, which premiered in 1995. Due to a violent nuclear fission reaction caused by high-purity natural uranium in the Earth's strata, Godzilla's home, Birth Island, instantly vanished. This event caused an abnormality in Godzilla's homing instinct, leading to an abnormal activation of nuclear energy within his body. He constantly heated up like a massive nuclear weapon, not only causing his skin to turn a super-heated crimson but also enabling him to emit a red heat ray more powerful than usual. His body temperature approached the critical 1200℃ for core meltdown, bringing him to the brink of death.
The "GIGANTIC SERIES Burning Godzilla (1995) Final Battle Ver." utilizes the same prototype as the "Godzilla (1995)" released in 2014. It presents Godzilla in a powerful, gigantic size of approximately 48cm in height and 87.5cm in total length, glaring at his enemy, Destoroyah, who killed his kin. The angry expression, the high-density texture of his rough skin, and the massive coral-like dorsal fins are meticulously sculpted.
Burning Godzilla's most distinctive feature, his super-heated skin, is achieved by applying silver paint to the inner surface of transparent molded parts, followed by an orange-red gradient paint from the outside. When illuminated by spotlights or other light sources, it creates the effect of light radiating from within Godzilla's body!
