Following the new 2023 The Lord of the Rings-themed BrickHeadz sets, the highly anticipated, colossal LEGO "10316 Rivendell" was finally officially unveiled yesterday (7th)! It is scheduled for release in March 2023.
Established by Elrond, Rivendell holds the title of "the Last Homely House East of the Sea." It is not only a sacred place untouched by evil, but its beautiful scenery and serene atmosphere have also been deeply described and presented in Tolkien's writings and The Lord of the Rings film series. Rivendell is also the birthplace of the "Fellowship of the Ring," making it an extremely iconic location in The Lord of the Rings story. This "10316 Rivendell," built with 6167 pieces and measuring 72 cm long when assembled, is undoubtedly an epic collectible. In addition to its detailed representation of the architecture and woodland scenes, it also fully captures the council attended by Elves, Men, Dwarves, and Hobbits.
The exterior perfectly captures the visual effect of Rivendell nestled deep within the forest. The sloped roofs are built with colorful pieces, creating rich layers, complemented by spires, rock-textured walls, pristine white gazebos, and yellow-green foliage – truly stunning! The structure is a half-cutaway design, allowing you to admire the rich interior from the back. This not only makes it easy to display against a wall but also intuitive to interact with the internal details. If you want it even more complete, just pull out your magic credit card and buy the other half (?).
The minifigure lineup is also generous, featuring 15 characters, including the nine members of the Fellowship of the Ring: Frodo, Sam, Pippin, Merry, Gandalf, Aragorn, Boromir, Legolas, and Gimli, as well as Elrond, Arwen, Bilbo, two Elves, and one Dwarf. The official images also reveal special pieces, such as a 2x2 printed tile for the Mithril shirt and the broken Narsil sword. It's worth noting that with 6167 pieces, this Rivendell set directly becomes the eighth largest LEGO set in history – truly a must-have!
