Japanese model maker Kaiyodo has officially pre-announced its brand new biological model series 『Nature Tales』, and has unveiled three digital 3D prototypes currently under development. The actual product prototypes will be showcased first at Japan's largest model exhibition, 'Wonder Festival 2023 Winter', held on February 12, 2023.
・Humpback Whale Parent and Child
The new series 『Nature Tales』 is developed by a team led by Kaiyodo's foremost biological sculptor, Shinobu Matsumura. Based on Matsumura's past sculpted works, these pieces are newly created using digital sculpting methods, incorporating various creatures from Earth as their creative theme. They delicately and vividly sculpt the graceful forms of these creatures. The bases feature a wood-like prototype stand and a metal nameplate, showcasing both collectible and educational value.
・Right Whale Parent and Child
The three currently revealed works, "Humpback Whale Parent and Child", "Orca and Sea Lion", and "Right Whale Parent and Child", all feature beautiful marine creatures. With underwater reefs as their bases, they sculpt the elegant, dance-like postures of these creatures as they roam the ocean. Each piece incorporates multiple individual organisms, depicting natural ecosystems such as parent-child interactions or predator-prey relationships.
