Japanese company ANIPLEX has announced its latest product from the popular anime "Bocchi the Rock!": the "Hitori Gotoh Sports Festival Delusion Ver." deformed figure set. With a reference price of 5,500 JPY, this item is exclusively sold on the official ANIPLEX+ store and is scheduled to ship in November 2023.
"Bocchi the Rock!" (ぼっち・ざ・ろっく！), centered on the theme "Introverts should play rock," tells the story of "Hitori Gotoh," a high school girl with severe social anxiety and a school outcast. From a young age, she diligently practiced guitar, hoping to gain attention from her classmates and become a rock star! However, her gloomy personality and inability to interact with others prevented her from forming a band. Instead, she transformed into "Guitar Hero," posting guitar videos online, until she met Nijika at Shimokitazawa High. Together with Ryo, Ikuyo, and others, she formed the "Kessoku Band" and serves as the lead guitarist. Her bandmates affectionately nicknamed her Bocchi.
The ANIPLEX+ exclusive "Hitori Gotoh Sports Festival Delusion Ver." deformed figure set perfectly recreates Bocchi's clay-like form from episode 7 of the anime, where merely hearing about the sports festival (taiikusai) caused her to have a nervous breakdown and enter a mysterious fantasy world! Dressed in a pink tracksuit, Bocchi has melted into a crude yet hilarious shape, her lifeless eyes revealing extreme fear and despair towards the sports festival! Additionally, it includes an acrylic standee featuring the fantasy sports festival characters from the anime, recreating the "all for one, one for all" scene of torture.
"A detestable festival where students who are bad at sports are ostracized and stripped of their reason for existence. Not only during school, but even after school, we're forced to labor, helping make banners or practice cheerleading... For nearly a month, forced to live for the sports festival, it's practically torture!"
