High-quality figure brand ORCATOYS (オルカトイズ), following their releases of Ippo Makunouchi and Mamoru Takamura based on the classic Japanese boxing manga "Hajime no Ippo", is once again launching a new series product – the former Japanese Featherweight Champion "Takeshi Sendo -finish blow-" non-scale pre-painted complete figure. It will be available in a Regular Edition and a Damaged Edition, with a reference price of 47,080 JPY each, scheduled for release in June 2023.
The boxing manga "Hajime no Ippo" (はじめの一歩), created by Japanese manga artist George Morikawa, has been serialized for over 30 years since 1989, with more than 129 tankōbon volumes. It is hailed as one of the flagship manga of "Weekly Shōnen Magazine" representing the Heisei era. The story centers on Ippo Makunouchi, a boy who is always bullied, and primarily tells of his journey into the Kamogawa Boxing Gym to learn boxing, striving to become a true strongman through countless battles.
Nicknamed "The Tiger of Naniwa" and "Naniwa Rocky," Takeshi Sendo is a professional boxer belonging to the Naniwa Boxing Association. Due to the experience of losing both parents in his childhood, he yearned to become a strong individual who could protect others and possessed a strong sense of justice. However, his extremism led him to become a delinquent involved in fights. Fortunately, he met a boxing coach, allowing his talent to flourish in the boxing ring! He has fought Ippo twice, relying on his wild instincts and aggressive style in matches, but ultimately lost both times.
The "ORCATOYS Takeshi Sendo -finish blow-" non-scale pre-painted complete figure captures the moment Sendo's fighting spirit explodes in a match, delivering his "Tiger Punch"! Standing approximately 29 cm tall, the prototype was sculpted by Tsuyoshi Takahashi. Crafted from high-quality resin, it meticulously depicts his combat stance, vividly sculpting the strong muscle lines across his entire body. Shading paint is applied to enhance the three-dimensional effect, and realistic paintwork is used for details on his attire and accessories, such as the boxing gloves, the fabric texture of his boxing shorts, and the intricate design of his boxing shoes, bringing him to life!
