Japanese toy brand Prime 1 Studio, known for releasing various high-quality character statues, in collaboration with its new ACG character brand series "PRISMA WING," is set to release a three-character diorama featuring the protagonists Riko, Reg, and Nanachi from the popular work "Made in Abyss" under the Concept Masterline product line, scheduled for May to August 2024!
"Made in Abyss" (メイドインアビス) is a fantasy-style work created by Japanese manga artist Akihito Tsukushi. It began serialization in 2012, was adapted into an anime in July 2017, and subsequently saw the release of theatrical anime films. The second season of the anime, "The Golden City of the Scorching Sun," concluded its broadcast in September 2022, and on January 15, 2023, the official announcement was made for a sequel to "The Golden City of the Scorching Sun."
The story follows the protagonist Riko, daughter of the legendary adventurer Lyza. Her mother embarked on an "Absolute Journey" into the Abyss when Riko was two years old. However, through items brought back by explorers from the lower layers, Riko learns that her mother is possibly waiting for her at the very bottom of the Abyss. Thus, Riko sets off into the Abyss with the mysterious robot Reg. Along the way, they encounter Nanachi, a good companion cursed by the Abyss, and Faputa, who seeks to save her mother. They continue to venture deeper, battling unknown creatures and environments.
This collaborative three-character diorama from Prime 1 Studio and its brand Prisma Wing features the protagonists Riko, Reg, and Nanachi from Made in Abyss. The three are placed together in a single scene: Riko embraces a leaping Reg, whose hand appears to be reaching for something. Nanachi, with her usual cute and innocent expression, watches the two. A charming creature rests on the tree they lean against, and flowing water forms the base. The overall presentation is harmonious and exquisite.
