LEGO recently announced the fourth exclusive product sold only at LEGO House, following "40501 Wooden Duck," "40502 The Moulding Machine," and "40503 Dagny Holm – Master Builder": "40504 A Minifigure Tribute"! It began sales today (March 1st).
The LEGO Minifigure was born in 1978. These figures, whose height is exactly four LEGO bricks stacked (without hair or hat pieces), immediately became a popular presence at the time, further enriching the play experience of the LEGO Town, LEGO Space, and LEGO Castle series. 2023 marks the 45th anniversary of the LEGO Minifigure's launch, with over 8000 different minifigures having appeared to date. This time's protagonist, "Captain Redbeard," is a popular character who first appeared in the 1989 set "6285 Black Seas Barracuda." Not only did he feature complex printing on his face beyond just a smile, but his left arm's hook and right leg's wooden prosthetic were also quite novel at the time.
▼ "6285 Black Seas Barracuda," which has now become a dream item for many LEGO fans.
This set is built from a total of 1041 pieces, and once assembled, it stands at 30 cm tall. It faithfully recreates all the details that legendary designer Niels Milan Pedersen originally gave Captain Redbeard, presenting them in an enlarged brick-built form. The design of the chest area, transitioning from flat printing to a three-dimensional brick-built texture, is very captivating, and the hook, represented by three L-shaped pipe pieces, is also incredibly well done! Furthermore, the pirate hat, face, epaulets, arms, and other parts utilize a large number of curved pieces to meticulously outline their shapes. Coupled with a black display base featuring a nameplate, it is highly suitable for display. Additionally, the treasure map in the captain's hand seems to hold a hidden secret.
