BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd.'s HOBBY Division in Japan today announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam F90," the "MG 1/100 Gundam F90 P-Type Mission Pack," scheduled for release in June 2023. This release is part of the Gunpla "MG (Master Grade)" series, which incorporates the latest technology, complete part separation, and high posability.
The F90-01 Gundam F90 is a new model developed in U.C. 0111 as part of S.N.R.I.'s "FORMULA Project" to miniaturize mobile suits. Its greatest feature is the Mission Pack expansion system, with numerous hard points located throughout the fuselage, allowing equipment to be quickly swapped to meet mission requirements. The project currently includes at least 26 types of Mission Packs (A-Z), and even models that previously lacked detailed settings have been redesigned by Kunio Okawara and released as MG kits in the "F90 A to Z PROJECT."
This atmospheric re-entry equipment, the "P (PLUNGE) Type Mission Pack," is being released as an MG 1/100 kit with a completely new sculpt after 32 years. Once assembled, it forms the nose cone, shoulder weapons, wing shields, hip fuel tank unit, and leg thruster unit. It can be equipped onto the separately sold "MG 1/100 Gundam F90" main unit.
All parts of the kit feature multiple movable mechanisms, including an deployable nose cone, rotatable shoulder vulcans and cannons, twin arm wing shields that can rotate and deploy their wings, movable leg thruster nozzles with metal wires used to recreate the connecting pipelines, and a hip fuel tank that can optionally be fitted with tail fins. It can transform into a WAVE RIDER form capable of atmospheric re-entry!
