BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan (candy toy) division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has recently announced the first product in its assembly model Shokugan『MINIPLA』series, "King-Ohger," from "Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger," scheduled for release in April 2023.
The latest installment in the "Super Sentai" series,《Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger》is the first Sentai to feature insects as its design theme and the first where all members are monarchs. King Kuwagata (Red), King Tombo (Blue), King Kamakiri (Yellow), King Papillon (Purple), and King Hachi (Black) are monarchs ruling different nations. To combat the invading enemy "Underground Empire," they gather here to fight side-by-side, using their monarch's proof and transformation devices, the "Ohger Calibur" and "Ohger Shield," to transform into Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger and battle. The guardian deities of each nation, the "Insect-type Mechanical Lifeform Shugods," also come to assist the monarchs, capable of combining into the strongest robot, "King-Ohger"!
The "MINIPLA King-Ohger" series will release the ten Shugods appearing in the show—Shugod Kuwagata, Shugod Tombo, Shugod Kamakiri, Shugod Papillon, Shugod Hachi, two Shugod Tentou, two Shugod Kumo, and Shugod Ant—divided into 6 types. The special gate design allows parts to be detached and assembled without the need for dangerous blade tools, making it suitable for children aged 3 and above. It also features multi-color molded parts and supplementary stickers to reproduce the in-show appearance as accurately as possible!
Upon collecting all 6 types of products, you can complete the ten insect Shugods that appear in the show. In addition to being playable individually, they also feature transformation and combination mechanisms, allowing for the recreation of the 10-machine grand combination, the approximately 15cm tall first robot, "King-Ohger." It boasts a body proportion reminiscent of its in-show appearance, along with flexible articulated joints, enabling dynamic and cool battle poses!
