Released by Japanese company RE-MENT (株式会社リーメント), the popular "Terrarium" series, which incorporates characters and their worldviews into small bottles, will launch its latest product based on the Japanese yokai work "GeGeGe no Kitaro", the "GeGeGe no Kitaro Yokai Terrarium" box set. The suggested retail price is 1,265 JPY per box, and it is scheduled for release on April 3, 2023.
The classic yokai work "GeGeGe no Kitaro (ゲゲゲの鬼太郎 / Kitaro of GeGeGe)", created by Japanese manga artist and yokai expert "Shigeru Mizuki", features Kitaro, the last survivor of the Ghost Tribe, as its protagonist. Born an orphan, his father transformed into "Medama-Oyaji" to accompany him. Kitaro lives with his yokai friends in a mysterious forest, usually trying to avoid contact with the human world. However, whenever he receives notice of yokai causing trouble, he dons his geta and heads to the human world to resolve issues between the two realms.
The "RE-MENT GeGeGe no Kitaro Yokai Terrarium" box set miniaturizes scenes from the yokai world into small terrarium bottles. Classic characters such as Kitaro, Medama-Oyaji, Nezumi Otoko, Neko Musume, Nurikabe, and Ittan Momen are all included. In addition to three distinctive terrarium shapes – Japanese tea bowl, thatched hut, and ghost – the set also features cute and lively daily life scenes of the yokai, allowing you to observe their everyday moments within the bottles~
