The high-quality figure brand "SHIBUYA SCRAMBLE FIGURE", launched by eStream, a subsidiary of Japanese IT group CyberZ (CyberZ, Inc.), is scheduled to release a 1/7 scale figure of the popular female protagonist "Makima" (マキマ) from the popular shonen manga series 《Chainsaw Man》 in April 2024!
《Chainsaw Man》 (チェンソーマン) is a manga series created and illustrated by Japanese manga artist Tatsuki Fujimoto, which began serialization in 2018 in the manga magazine 《Weekly Shonen Jump》. The story follows the protagonist, Denji, a poor young man who, in order to survive, partners with the devil "Pochita", earning money by hunting devils. However, Denji is inadvertently ambushed and dismembered along with Pochita. To save Denji, and having made a promise with Denji to let Pochita see his "dream," Pochita re-establishes a contract with him and merges with his heart, granting Denji the ability to transform into Chainsaw Man. From then on, he joins the Public Safety Devil Hunters, becoming Makima's subordinate and battling various devils.
In the original work, Makima is protagonist Denji's superior and the object of his admiration; Denji often fantasizes about Makima's physique. Makima appears cool and mysterious, and her demeanor towards her subordinates always exudes a strong sense of dominance, which paradoxically gives her a unique charm.
This 1/7 scale PVC figure of Makima, released by eStream, stands approximately 26 cm tall. It depicts her in her most frequently worn white shirt and black suit pants, captured in the act of putting on her overcoat, which features a distinct flowing dynamic. Her white shirt is stained with blood, as if she has just emerged from a fierce battle, and blood even pools beside the rocks she stands upon, evoking the intense atmosphere of a dark, violent drama.
