Japanese toy company Kotobukiya, in collaboration with renowned illustrator Shunya Yamashita, has announced the first release in their "BISHOUJO" figure series themed around "Star Trek": the "STAR TREK BISHOUJO Vulcan Science Officer" 1/7 scale figure. It has a suggested retail price of 16,500 JPY and is scheduled for release in September 2023!
The sci-fi classic "Star Trek" series, with a history of approximately 60 years (the film version is also known as Star Trek), was created by Gene Roddenberry in the 1960s. Set in a utopian 23rd century, the story follows the crew of the starship "Enterprise" as they explore unknown new worlds. Vulcans are an intelligent alien species originating from the planet Vulcan, similar in appearance to humans but with pointed, elf-like ears. They were the first intelligent alien civilization to make formal contact with Earth humans and are one of the founding members of the United Federation of Planets.
The "STAR TREK BISHOUJO Vulcan Science Officer" 1/7 scale PVC pre-painted complete figure stands approximately 22 cm tall. Based on Shunya Yamashita's illustration, it reinterprets the United Federation of Planets Science Officer from Vulcan into a bishoujo form! It retains the pointed ears, raised eyebrows, and distinctive short hairstyle. Dressed in the blue science officer uniform, details such as the chest insignia and gold trim on the cuffs are meticulously sculpted. Her cool expression paired with black stockings is quite captivating, and she's making the classic Vulcan salute with her hand, revealing pointed fingernails – super cute!
