Japan's X-PLUS Co., Ltd. (株式会社エクスプラス) has announced a limited statue from their "Real Master Collection PLUS" series, featuring the main kaiju "FAVORITE SCULPTORS LINE Destoroyah (Complete Form)" from the movie Godzilla vs. Destoroyah. The reference price is 99,000 JPY, with an estimated release in June 2023.
Destoroyah is the antagonist kaiju from the 1995 film Godzilla vs. Destoroyah. Originally microscopic crustaceans that lived in an oxygen-free environment 2.5 billion years ago, they lay dormant in ancient geological strata. They were accidentally awakened when Dr. Serizawa used the "Oxygen Destroyer" against the first Godzilla, gradually mutating into organisms adapted to oxygen. After absorbing Godzilla Jr.'s DNA and power plant energy, Destoroyah further evolved into its Complete Form, exceeding 200 meters in height!
The "FAVORITE SCULPTORS LINE Destoroyah (Complete Form)" statue boasts an impressive height of 64 cm. It utilizes a GK kit prototype created by Kokuryu Kobo and employs polyurethane resin (PUR) as its main material to reproduce the precise sculpting as accurately as possible, bringing this impactful and powerful creation to life as a finished model product. The statue meticulously captures Destoroyah's extremely rough skin, sharp wings, and tail details without compromise. Through gradient painting, the biological texture of its teeth and horns is rendered, recreating the terrifying appearance of its Complete Form!
