The highly anticipated new LEGO Indiana Jones series, eagerly awaited by many old-school toy collectors, was finally fully unveiled yesterday (13th)! This article will bring you product information for set 77012, "Fighter Plane Chase" (provisional translation), from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
This "vehicle + minifigure" set, consisting of 387 pieces, recreates the classic chase scene from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. It includes the Jones father-son duo driving a vintage Citroën 11 Légère convertible and a German pilot in a fighter plane. The convertible features the black, grey, and white color scheme and vehicle lines, with the windshield represented by a rectangular frame piece with four studs. The fighter plane also faithfully reproduces the grey-green color scheme, propeller, and transparent cockpit canopy. However, the original Nazi symbol on the tail fin has been removed. In addition to the stud shooters on both wings, the wings can be easily detached, recreating the scene from the movie where the fighter plane crashes into a tunnel and its wings are torn off.
The minifigure section includes a new-look "Indiana Jones," Indy's father "Henry Jones," and the pilot. Indy's leg piece, printed with a holstered pistol, is quite impressive, while Henry Jones comes with a suitcase and the crucial umbrella piece.
