Following the release of numerous Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 units, the robot-themed action figure series 'ROBOT魂 ver. A.N.I.M.E.', issued by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors' toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, today announced the commercialization of the previously exhibited prototype, the "RX-78GP00 Gundam Prototype 0 ver. A.N.I.M.E.". Detailed product information will be revealed on March 24th.

The RX-78GP00 Gundam Prototype 0, codenamed "Blossom", was the first prototype unit in the GP series of the "Gundam Development Project", commissioned by the Earth Federation Forces to Anaheim Electronics (AE Co.) after the One Year War. Developed using most of the latest technologies of the time, it was equipped with a large beam rifle, a Minovsky Particle Interference Wave Searcher (MPIWS), and a core fighter. Although it possessed excellent combat performance, the burden on the pilot was too great, making it difficult to operate. In Universal Century 0082, while still undergoing insufficient maintenance and testing, the unit encountered Zeon remnants performing a sniping mission on the lunar surface. After the engagement, the unit was severely damaged, and its combat data was recovered, becoming the development basis for the subsequent GP01-04 units.

The official images currently released for the "RX-78GP00 Gundam Prototype 0 ver. A.N.I.M.E." show no significant differences from the previously exhibited prototype. It utilizes a large number of new parts to faithfully recreate its distinctive armor design and purple-and-white color scheme, as well as armaments such as the large beam rifle used for precision sniping missions and the disc-shaped Minovsky Particle Interference Wave Searcher (MPIWS) on its back.
