The latest product from the Japanese brand MECHA SMILE's plastic model kit series 'MODEROID', 'Evil King of Fire Wyburst' from 'Madō King Granzort', was announced today and is scheduled for release in September 2023.
Appearing in the series, the "Three Evil Kings of Darkness"—Wyburst, Harpy, and Serpentina—were developed by the Earth scientist Dr. Bible, who assisted the Evil Empire. After analyzing the battle data of the original three Granzorts, he utilized a special alloy capable of absorbing Evil Power and self-repairing to create these "anti-Granzort specialized Majin". When sufficiently powered by Evil Power, they possess extremely high combat capabilities comparable to the Granzorts. In addition to the high-defense Giant Face Mode and close-combat Battle Mode, they also feature a unique Beast Mode, which the original Granzorts lack, to gain a terrain advantage.
The "MODEROID Wyburst" kit is composed of multi-color molded parts and pre-painted parts. Once assembled, it stands approximately 14 cm tall, faithfully reproducing the sinister armor design and colors from the series. It features flexible articulation, allowing for dynamic battle poses when combined with its longsword weapon "Blade Schwarz" and various hand parts. The unit also incorporates a three-stage transformation mechanism for Giant Face, Battle, and Beast Modes, recreating its evil, twin-headed dragon form. A magic circle-themed display base for the Giant Face Mode is also included.
