BANDAI CANDY, the candy toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product from the new series 'Shodo XX', an evolution of the popular 'Shodo' articulated candy toy line. This new item, the 'Kamen Rider & Cyclone Set', is based on the movie 'Shin Kamen Rider' and is scheduled for release in September 2023.
This product is from 'Shin Kamen Rider', the 50th-anniversary Kamen Rider commemorative work set to premiere in March 2023. Directed by Hideaki Anno, this new interpretation re-imagines the original 'Kamen Rider' series. Talented young actor Sosuke Ikematsu portrays the new generation's protagonist, Takeshi Hongo. With a modern style infused with nostalgic elements, the film invites audiences to relive the classic battle of Kamen Rider No. 1 and No. 2 against the evil organization Shocker, which seeks to conquer the world. The designs of the Kamen Riders and monsters appearing in the film have also been meticulously recreated.
The 'Shodo XX Kamen Rider & Cyclone Set' features a highly articulated body, standing approximately 10 cm tall, meticulously reproducing the cool design from the film, complete with numerous screw hole details and the characteristic exposed hair. It can also recreate two poses, with or without the coat, by swapping parts! The red scarf comes in two styles: static hanging and wind-blown, allowing for dynamic poses such as the signature Rider Kick, thanks to multiple interchangeable hand parts and flexible joints.
The dedicated motorcycle, 'Cyclone', included with the figure, is scaled proportionally to Kamen Rider. Its various colors are reproduced using molded part colors and stickers, allowing the Kamen Rider figure to ride it and recreate iconic scenes from the film.
