From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company HOBBY Division, the "FULL MECHANICS" series, known for its high-density details and ease of assembly, following the Calamity Gundam and Raider Gundam, today announced its latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED", the "FULL MECHANICS 1/100 Forbidden Gundam", scheduled for release on August 11, 2023.
The three mobile suits, Calamity Gundam, Raider Gundam, and Forbidden Gundam, are late-series GAT-X units developed by the Earth Alliance and piloted by the three Extended humans: Olga Sabnak, Clotho Buer, and Shani Andras. Each of the three units is equipped with different functions to meet mission requirements and operate together. The Calamity possesses high-firepower long-range beam weapons, the transformable Raider boasts high mobility, and the Forbidden is equipped with a backpack unit that distorts beams. While their superhuman piloting abilities combined with cutting-edge mobile suits provide formidable combat power, the three Extended humans, having undergone brainwashing and long-term medication, suffer from side effects such as a lack of humanity and judgment, leading to agonizing madness if they miss their medication.
Continuing the design style of the previous two releases, the "FULL MECHANICS 1/100 Forbidden Gundam" does not feature a complete inner frame structure, but it boasts intricately sculpted armor, exposed frame, and mechanical details, along with relatively easy assembly. The color separation and part division technology have also been further enhanced. The kit features a sharp and richly detailed design, showcasing not only the panel lines on the exterior armor but also the internal structure of the exhaust vents and the patterns within the armor, presenting a full sense of mechanical realism.
Each joint features flexible articulation. Specifically, the backpack utilizes multiple movable axes allowing for significant angle adjustments, and the head can be slightly retracted downwards. With a minimalist design that avoids articulation interference, it perfectly recreates the Forbidden Gundam's "High-Speed Assault Mode", where the backpack covers its head.
The support arms connecting the energy deflection armor on both sides can extend in multiple directions, and metal wires are included to recreate the cables. The blade parts of the heavy scythe "Nidhoggr" feature two types of surface finishes, showcasing the textural difference of the sharpened edge. Furthermore, the two 88mm "Eckzahn" railguns behind the arms and the "Geschmeidig Panzer" magnetic field modulation device, which alters the trajectory of the plasma cannon, both feature deployable and rotatable articulation.
