Following the release of Chou Mashin Ryujinmaru and Ryuseimaru in the 'HG (High Grade)' robot model kit series from BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division, it was finally announced today that the third installment from Mashin Hero Wataru, 'Ryujinmaru,' is scheduled for release in July 2023.
The Mashin exclusive to the Savior, Ryujinmaru, is a Mashin imbued with the 'Soul of the Golden Dragon,' one of the 'Seven Dragon Gods of Shinbu,' guardians of Soukaizan. Its appearance is based on a clay sculpture created by the Savior, Wataru Ikusabe. In addition to powerful techniques like Tōryūken and Ryūgaken, Ryujinmaru also learns new moves through continuous combat. After the appearance of Kūjinmaru, it can even combine with it to overcome its weakness of not being able to fly and fight. Unlike other Mashin, Ryujinmaru can speak independently and act with its own will. It is also skilled at rock-paper-scissors and wrestling techniques, and is fluent in various Soukaizan dialects.
The 'HG Ryujinmaru' faithfully recreates the refined design from the original anime, and is produced using Bandai's most advanced multi-color molding and part separation technology. The entire model is composed of multiple colored molded parts including gold, white, blue, red, clear red, and clear green, allowing for color accuracy without the need for stickers. Even the dragon crest pattern on the shoulder armor features independent parts, making it incredibly convenient for those who wish to paint it themselves, eliminating the struggle with masking tools.
Despite the original design seemingly limiting articulation, Bandai has incorporated numerous mechanisms to enhance its range of motion. Features such as pull-out shoulder, waist, and hip joints that extend downwards, along with knee armor equipped with interlocking mechanisms, allow Ryujinmaru to achieve more dynamic and natural poses. Combined with the included Tōryūken sword and various interchangeable hand parts, you can recreate iconic poses such as drawing the sword from behind its back or wielding the sword overhead to unleash its signature move, 'Tōryūken'!
