In addition to their extensive lineup of Toho kaiju toys, Japanese company X-PLUS (株式会社エクスプラス) is now bringing the apex predator from "Jurassic Park," the "Tyrannosaurus Rex," to life as a 1/35 scale assembly model! Shipping is scheduled to begin in July 2023.
In the story of "Jurassic Park," programmer "Dennis" shut down the security system, causing the high-voltage protective electric fence in the park to fail. This led to the Tyrannosaurus Rex breaking through the fence and subsequently attacking Dr. Grant and his group. The classic scene of the T-Rex's powerful appearance in the rain remains a highly memorable moment to this day!
To capture the moment the Tyrannosaurus Rex is charging and standing on one leg, X-PLUS opted to sculpt it as a plastic model rather than PVC or resin. This unpainted assembly model kit of the T-Rex comes in an earthy yellow molded color and measures approximately 38 cm long when assembled. In addition to showcasing its rough skin texture and thick muscle lines, the teeth and tongue in its mouth are also extensively segmented. Furthermore, it includes an electric fence and road diorama, along with "Ian Malcolm" attracting the T-Rex's attention, allowing you to recreate this classic chase scene with your painting skills and imagination!
Notably, the exclusive edition sold at X-PLUS's official store "Shonen RIC" also includes "Donald Gennaro," the man hiding in the toilet, allowing you to recreate the terrifying scene where he is about to be swallowed whole by the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
