Today, the TAMASHII NATIONS collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company announced the latest product from the 'ROBOT魂 ver.A.N.I.M.E.' series, based on "Mobile Suit Gundam 0083": the "Gundam GP00 ver. A.N.I.M.E.", scheduled for release in August 2023.
Codenamed "Blossom", the RX-78GP00 Gundam GP00 was the first prototype in the GP series of the "Gundam Development Project", commissioned by the Earth Federation Forces to Anaheim Electronics (AE Co.) after the One Year War. Developed using most of the latest technologies of the time, it was equipped with a large beam rifle, a Minovsky Particle Interference Wave Detector, and a Core Booster II. Although it possessed excellent combat performance, it was too difficult to operate due to the excessive burden on the pilot. In Universal Century 0082, the unit, under-maintained and insufficiently tested, encountered Zeon remnants performing a sniping mission on the lunar surface. After the engagement, the unit was severely damaged, and its combat data was recovered to become the development basis for the subsequent GP01-04 units.
The "ROBOT魂 Gundam GP00 ver. A.N.I.M.E." faithfully recreates the overall proportions and cool, heavy armor design based on the setting drafts. Even when equipped with multiple large armaments, its excellent articulation design in the shoulders, waist, and hips allows for dynamic posing. Furthermore, the back mount features a movable mechanism that allows the armaments to be rotated forward.
For armaments, in addition to the Long-Range Beam Rifle for precision sniping missions and the disc-shaped Minovsky Particle Interference Wave Detector (MPIWS) on its back, the shoulder beam guns can also be detached and used as beam sabers, complete with beam blade effects.
Furthermore, by combining the included fuselage parts with the Long-Range Beam Rifle, MPIWS, and the thrusters at the rear of the waist, you can recreate the Core Booster II's separated form! The rear thruster nozzles can be fitted with the extra-large propulsion effect parts included in the "ROBOT魂 Effect Parts Set 2 ver. A.N.I.M.E." to recreate high-speed flight scenes!
