To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the "Gundam Build Fighters" series, the official Japanese popular sci-fi anime series "Mobile Suit Gundam" today officially announced the production of a new commemorative anime, "Gundam Build Metaverse". This commemorative work will be released in 3 episodes sequentially starting in October 2023 on the official YouTube channel "GUNDAM.INFO". The detailed broadcast schedule will be announced at a later date.
The "Gundam Build Fighters" series is a new Gundam visual project announced by Bandai Namco Group, Sotsu, and Sunrise in July 2013. From the first work, "Gundam Build Fighters," to the latest "Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE," over 10 anime and manga media works, as well as numerous best-selling Gunpla products, have been released. Unlike the often serious themes of past "Gundam" series, the "Gundam Build Fighters" series aims to "convey the joy of building Gunpla to people of all generations."
Currently, only the new work's logo and a new mobile suit with a silhouette similar to the G-SELF can be seen in the preview video. Simultaneously, BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division also announced that Gunpla products are currently under development.
In addition, Bandai Namco's long-developed Gundam metaverse world, "Gunpla Colony," will also begin test operations simultaneously in October 2023. In the future, Gundam fans will be able to enter a virtual 3D space to interact with fellow enthusiasts worldwide and enjoy the fun that Gunpla brings. Currently, "Gunpla Colony" is expected to offer an e-commerce system where users can actually purchase Gunpla products, the ability to scan physical Gunpla for sharing in the virtual world, automatic text translation and vocalization, and an AI character named "MELLOW" that can independently learn a vast amount of Gunpla knowledge. It is believed that more related content will emerge once "Gundam Build Metaverse" is released.
