World-renowned film and television special effects company "WETA Workshop" has announced the latest product from its "Classic Series" line: the "LURTZ™, HUNTER OF MEN" 1/6 scale full body statue, based on The Lord of the Rings! Shipping is expected to begin in Q4 2023.
Lurtz was the first Uruk-hai created by the White Wizard Saruman. In the latter part of The Fellowship of the Ring, he led the Uruk-hai forces in an ambush against the Fellowship of the Ring at Amon Hen. The powerfully built Lurtz possessed not only exceptional archery skills, capable of repeatedly striking Boromir from a distance, but also formidable strength and combat prowess. A few blows left Aragorn almost unable to parry, and even after Aragorn's swift attack severed his right arm and pierced his abdomen, he remained fearless, making him a truly terrifying Uruk-hai. Despite being a villain and causing the death of the great Gondorian warrior Boromir, Lurtz still enjoys considerable popularity.
This 1/6 scale statue of Lurtz stands approximately 36 cm tall, recreating his fiercely menacing walking pose, bow and arrow in hand. His villainous gaze seems to be searching for any target present on Amon Hen. His slicked-back black hair, deep red skin, white handprint on his face, as well as his tattered clothing and hard armor are all meticulously sculpted. The paint application expertly highlights the textural differences between leather and metal, and the grime on his skin and equipment is realistically rendered. Coupled with the base strewn with fallen leaves, damn it! It makes one recall the scene where he relentlessly shot Boromir with arrows all over again.
