Japanese company SQUARE ENIX recently announced the latest product from the popular video game 'NieR:Automata', the '2B&9S Articulated Plastic Model Kit', scheduled for release in October 2023.
This product is a set that independently sells the 2B&9S figures, previously bundled with the Flight Unit. The product includes the 2B and 9S main bodies, as well as their companion machines 'Pod 042' and 'Pod 153', completing the four main characters. Although it lacks the combinable Flight Unit, the price is only about 1/3 of the original, making it a new option for consumers who only wish to collect 2B and 9S.
Both kits are made with multi-color molded parts, with a finished height of approximately 7-7.5 cm. Despite their small size, they feature rich costume details and flexible articulated joint designs. The 2B figure comes with Pod 042 and two weapons, Virtuous Contract and Virtuous Treaty, and can reproduce the high-cut, skirtless appearance after self-destructing by swapping parts. Meanwhile, 9S comes with Pod 153 and two weapons, Cruel Oath and Cruel Blood Oath. Both include clear molded stand parts, allowing them to recreate the in-game poses of the Pods following and carrying weapons.
