Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS' Figuarts mini product series will release a figure of "Genya Shinazugawa" from the popular work "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" in August 2023!
Created by Japanese manga artist Koyoharu Gotouge, the super popular manga series "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" (鬼滅の刃), which began serialization in 2016, has maintained its popularity despite concluding in 2020. The second season of the anime, "Entertainment District Arc," finished airing in February 2022, and the third season, "Swordsmith Village Arc," is confirmed to premiere in April 2023.
In the original story, Genya Shinazugawa is a classmate of the protagonist Tanjiro. He is also the younger brother of the "Wind Hashira," Sanemi Shinazugawa. He uses a gun as a weapon, has poor physical combat skills, and cannot use any breathing techniques. However, he can consume the bodies of demons through his unique biting and digestive organs to gain their abilities, and even use Blood Demon Arts. He is known as a "Demon Eater." Initially, his relationship with Tanjiro and others was poor, but he was later moved by their sibling bond, and their relationship gradually improved. In the final battle, he fought against Kokushibo alongside the Stone Hashira and others. Although they ultimately defeated Kokushibo, Genya was severely wounded and passed away in his brother's arms after they reconciled.
This "Figuarts mini" Genya Shinazugawa faithfully recreates his appearance from the series. His head, hands, and feet are articulated to some extent, and he also includes interchangeable hand parts and a dedicated display stand. His expression appears somewhat frenzied, and his hairstyle is quite distinctive.
