Prime 1 Studio, a popular statue series under the Japanese company, has announced the latest product in its "Premium Masterline" series: the "Gally Rusty Angel 1/4 Scale Statue", based on the original sci-fi manga 'GUNNM' (which inspired the film 'Alita: Battle Angel'). The suggested retail price is 151,140 JPY, with an estimated release in October 2024!
The classic cyberpunk manga 'GUNNM', created by Japanese manga artist Yukito Kishiro, is set in a near-future world with advanced technology but a decaying civilization. After a catastrophic interstellar war, people on the ground are controlled by the aerial technological city of 'Zalem', revealing extreme disparities in wealth. The story unfolds in the dilapidated and chaotic 'Scrapyard', where Dr. Ido finds a damaged female cyborg with an intact brain among the scrap heaps, giving her new life and naming her 'Gally'. Having lost her memory, Gally unconsciously unleashes the lost Martian martial art 'Panzer Kunst' during an accident. From then on, she dons the 'Berserker Body' and embarks on a journey of combat and self-discovery.
The Prime 1 Studio "Premium Masterline Gally Rusty Angel 1/4 Scale Statue" stands approximately 43 cm tall and 46 cm wide. Based on the "Fight 001–Rusty Angel" illustration from the first volume of the 'GUNNM' manga, it brings to life the mechanical girl awaiting awakening amidst the scrap. Her innocent closed-eye expression, the intricate fusion of female form and machinery, and the iron wings evoking both destruction and rebirth, recreate the origin of the killing angel and present a powerful visual impact! Her severely damaged upper body exposes a metallic skeleton, while her lower body also shows partial damage, with mechanical prosthetics for her calves and feet. The skin on her legs is covered in abrasions and realistic fragments of mottled rust...
The base pays homage to the scrap heaps of the Scrapyard, filled with discarded machinery, where jumbled iron pieces, Dr. Ido's tools, and the "GUNNM" nameplate are intertwined. Gally's gentle expression, soft skin, and rugged metal create a striking contrast, complemented by meticulously crafted wings, sculpting a Gally statue that is truly a work of art. Every detail is richly sculpted, satisfying 'GUNNM' fans from every viewing angle.
▼The bonus version includes a "GUNNM" nameplate. The familiar Kanji logo is a must-have collectible for fans; please enjoy it alongside the statue!
