Following the release of Kamen Rider No. 1 and Kamen Rider No. 2, the popular action figure series 'S.H.Figuarts', issued by BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, today announced its latest product from the movie 'Shin Kamen Rider', the "Kamen Rider No. 0", scheduled for release in October 2023.
The final boss appearing in the film, Kamen Rider No. 0, is the transformed form of SHOCKER's de facto leader, Ichiro Midorikawa. This Rider was designed by renowned mechanical designer Yutaka Izubuchi and is the first Kamen Rider in history to be purely modeled after a butterfly. Its head features antennae and an oral cavity, and its chest armor resembles colorful butterfly wings. It possesses the power of 'Rest' (安息之力), which allows it to steal others' 'Ki' (spirit/soul).
The "S.H.Figuarts Kamen Rider No. 0" continues the articulated design of the previous two figures, featuring flexible joints throughout the body that maintain its aesthetic, allowing for the elegant combat poses seen in the film. Its intricate details, such as the complex compound eyes, antennae, and belt, are faithfully recreated with meticulous sculpting. In terms of color, the head features a thin gradient layer sprayed over a bright silver base, achieving the unique polarized color texture seen in the movie. The butterfly wing-shaped armor on the chest also boasts a magnificent gradient paint application.
Ichiro Midorikawa's exposed long black hair is also a distinctive feature. Accessories include two styles of long hair: one falling vertically and one dynamically spread out, which can be interchanged according to the desired pose. The compound eyes on the head can also be switched between illuminated and non-illuminated states using interchangeable parts. Additionally, various interchangeable hand parts are included to suit different actions.
