BANDAI SPIRITS' collectible toy division TAMASHII NATIONS, in collaboration with Japanese master sculptor Takayuki Takeya, presents the Star Wars-themed action figure collection series "MEISHO MOVIE REALIZATION". Following the release of "Ronin Mandalorian" and "Ronin Mandalorian (Beskar Armor) & Grogu" based on 'The Mandalorian', they have recently announced a new addition: "Ashigaru Imperial Stormtrooper (Remnant)"! It is scheduled for release in August 2023.
In the first episode of 'The Mandalorian' Season 1, the protagonist, the Mandalorian, arrives at the client's (played by Werner Herzog) location to undertake a high-reward mission. There, four Imperial Stormtroopers, evidently hired as bodyguards by the client, appear. Beyond being mercenaries, their unkempt, dirty armor also symbolizes the decline of the Galactic Empire. In the Star Wars narrative, these Stormtroopers are referred to as "Remnant Stormtroopers," signifying the remnants of the Imperial forces.
This "Ashigaru Imperial Stormtrooper (Remnant)" from the MEISHO MOVIE REALIZATION series stands approximately 18 cm tall. Its overall armor design is very similar to the "Ashigaru Imperial Stormtrooper" released in 2015. However, this new figure features extensive yellowed weathering and deep scratch damage, and the armor style around the neck is also different. It comes equipped with a Japanese Sengoku-style matchlock blaster, a katana worn on the outer left thigh, and a uniquely reinterpreted "Camtono" container for storing Beskar steel. The Koban-style Beskar silver coins are also incredibly cool!
