The new series "GIGANTIC × DEFOREAL", a dream collaboration between the "GIGANTIC" and "DEFOREAL" soft vinyl figure lines produced by Japan's PLEX Company and distributed by X-PLUS Company, will launch its second product: a pre-painted finished figure of the classic original "Godzilla (1954)". It will be available in a regular edition and a "Shonen RIC" store exclusive edition, with an anticipated release in August 2023.
Appearing in the 1954 film "Godzilla", the original Godzilla is also known as "Gojira" or "The Hydrogen Bomb Monster". This black behemoth, weighing 20,000 tons and standing 50 meters tall, dwells in the deep sea. It is theorized to be a transitional creature that evolved from marine reptiles to terrestrial beasts, but its habitat was destroyed by nuclear tests, causing it to emerge with hatred to devastate human cities. Tanks and missiles were utterly ineffective against it, yet its high-temperature heat ray easily engulfed Tokyo in flames. Only Dr. Serizawa's "Oxygen Destroyer" could reduce it to bones.
The "GIGANTIC × DEFOREAL Godzilla (1954)" combines the massive scale of GIGANTIC with the cute yet realistic styling of DEFOREAL. It magnifies the original approximately 13 cm DEFOREAL Godzilla to an impressive size of 24 cm tall and 39 cm long! This new sculpt faithfully recreates Godzilla's iconic scene from the film, biting a train. Its round eyes and sharp fangs are terrifyingly striking, and the painting details on its claws, dorsal fins, and skin boast realistic precision, yet the overall impression carries a charmingly playful feel!
Through interchangeable parts, it can also be displayed in its normal state, without the train.
