The Five-Centimeter Hi-Nu Gundam

Hello everyone, I'm Danny O from Good Man Model Studio.

The model I'm working on this time is the Hi-Nu Gundam from the first wave of Gundam Artifact. Counting back, it's already a two-year-old product – time flies! When I first got my hands on it, I couldn't resist starting a live stream to build it with everyone. Two years later, I've finally completed it, avoiding the dreaded 'unfinished project' fate. What a joyous occasion!

For those interested in the initial build, you can revisit the live stream archives from back then, which I've linked below.

Episode 3:

This time, I didn't actually use any particularly special building techniques; it was all about fundamental skills.
The challenge, however, was applying these fundamentals to a five-centimeter-tall mobile suit.

I figured I'd better tackle this while my eyesight is still sharp and before presbyopia sets in~

In addition to the basic build, I also incorporated dedicated photo-etched parts previously released by Mad Works and G-Soul.
These parts easily enhance the mobile suit's details. A noticeable area is the front skirt armor, where the air vents now feature much finer detailing.

The method basically involved a white spray paint base coat, with the rest of the parts hand-painted.
It felt a bit like those popular 'paint-by-numbers' kits from back in the day – quite a calming and meditative process.

What do you all think of the final result?
I personally really like it! If you're interested in the building process, you can check out the production video, which includes the application of a color-matching cutting mat. I hope you all enjoy it, and I'll see you next time~
