Bandai Namco Group's Gashapon toy brand GASHAPON today officially announced the new Gashapon series for the "Mobile Suit Gundam" theme, 'CAPSULE ACTION', revealing prototypes under development for four mobile suits: GM, Dom, Ground Type Gundam, and Z Gundam. Release dates are yet to be determined.
'CAPSULE ACTION' is a new series of Gashapon toys that transforms mobile suits from the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series into approximately 9 cm tall articulated figures. The overall sculpting features a higher density of intricate details compared to the original designs, with paintwork faithfully reproducing each section's colors and printed body markings for a more refined texture. The neck, waist, and limbs all feature a decent level of articulation, allowing for dynamic posing with the included weaponry.
The prototypes for these four mobile suits—GM, Dom, Ground Type Gundam, and Z Gundam—are all fundamentally produced to a uniform 9 cm height specification, with precisely sculpted parts reproducing the distinctive design styles of each unit. Examples include Dom's massive legs housing thermonuclear jet thrusters, the functional exterior of the Ground Type Gundam, and Z Gundam's slender and streamlined physique. However, currently, only the GM is confirmed to be released as the third product following Zaku II, while the commercialization of the other three units has not yet been decided.
