Deeply fascinated by the allure of black, Chocomoo's works are mostly rendered in monochrome. She combines her love for street culture, black-and-white animation, and fashion elements to create a strong and unique personal style with adorable characters. She has not only exhibited her works in Japan, New York, Los Angeles, and other locations but has also collaborated with major brands across various fields, including Pokémon, BAPE, FIAT, HUNTER, Reebok, CASETiFY, LINE, and more. Perhaps some toy enthusiasts among you even own the BE@RBRICK released by MEDICOM TOY in collaboration with Chocomoo!
Beyond her illustrations, Chocomoo also possesses a highly recognizable style and lively tone in her text creations. She enjoys incorporating positive words into her works, not only infusing them with more vitality but also hoping that her art can uplift more people! In 2018, due to the 0206 Hualien earthquake, Chocomoo created an artwork titled "Go Hualien, We Love Taiwan" and authorized the Hualien County Government to use this image to support disaster reconstruction efforts.
▼ A 1000% scale BE@RBRICK was also on display at the venue!
▼ This time, we toy enthusiasts also specially asked Chocomoo-sensei to personally write down her answer to "What are toys to you?"~
▼ It turns out to be "インスピレーション (Inspiration)" – inspiration!
