From Japanese model manufacturer GOOD SMILE COMPANY's mechanical-themed brand MECHA SMILE, the completed combining toy series "THE GATTAI" today officially announced the previously teased latest product from the theatrical anime "GRIDMAN UNIVERSE", "Gridman (Universe Fighter) & Big Goldburn", slated for release in January 2024.
The theatrical film "GRIDMAN UNIVERSE" returns to the setting of the first work, "SSSS.GRIDMAN": the computer world "Tsutsujidai" where protagonists Yuta, Rikka, and others live. It brings together key characters from the sequel "SSSS.DYNAZENON", such as Yomogi and Yume, for a dream co-starring! After Akane Shinjo, who created monsters, returned to the real world, and the mastermind Alexis Kerib was defeated by GRIDMAN, Tsutsujidai enjoyed peaceful daily life. However, just half a year later, mysterious monsters reappeared due to the convergence of multiple universes, prompting the GRIDMAN Alliance to reassemble!
"THE GATTAI Gridman (Universe Fighter) & Big Goldburn" features the forms of Gridman and Goldburn after gaining new powers in the film. Gridman (Universe Fighter) stands approximately 14.5 cm tall, with a magnificent body painted in rich colors such as gold, silver, and metallic blue. It boasts numerous articulated joints and comes with 3 pairs of interchangeable hands, allowing for dynamic battle poses.
Big Goldburn measures 34 cm in length. Its wings are hot-stamped, and the blue parts are made with clear components. The chest ornament on its back, used during combination, features a double plating treatment with gold plating (surrounding) and mirror plating (clear parts). It also incorporates an internal LED lighting mechanism, allowing it to be combined with the Gridman (Universe Fighter) main body to recreate the "Grid Hyper Fixer Beam" scene from the film!
However, the biggest highlight of this product is its ability to further combine with the "THE GATTAI DX DYNAZENON" released in 2021. By integrating with existing combination mechanisms, it expands its functions to recreate the new combined form from the theatrical film, the approximately 33 cm tall "Super Dragon King Combination Super Human Rogue Kaiser Gridman"!
