To commemorate the 25th anniversary of "Digimon," following the highly popular "Digital Monster COLOR (Ver.1/Ver.2)," Bandai Spirits has received positive feedback and is now releasing the latest products, the three commemorative items "Digital Monster COLOR (Ver.3/Ver.4/Ver.5)." The suggested retail price is 6,930 JPY each, with an estimated release in September 2023.
The exterior design of the "Digital Monster COLOR" main unit is based on the original version released in 1997, faithfully reproducing the shape, size, and button design of the LCD toy released at that time. It will be available in the reissued original purple Ver.3, clear red Ver.4, and clear green Ver.5. In terms of hardware, in addition to being updated with modern technology to feature a color screen, changeable background images, and a rechargeable battery with USB Type-C connectivity, the Digimon appearing in the device are based on the lineup released in 1998! Ver.3 includes 20 Digimon such as Patamon and Ogremon, while Ver.4 features Biyomon and Kuwagamon, and Ver.5 includes 19 Digimon such as Gazimon and DarkTyrannomon. All Perfect-level Digimon can evolve to Ultimate-level, and Digimon can also fuse through connection between different versions.
