The popular action figure series 『S.H.Figuarts』, released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., following Kamen Rider BLACK SUN, today announced the release of the pre-transformation human form "Kotaro Minami (Kamen Rider BLACK SUN)", scheduled for November 2023.
Kotaro Minami, the protagonist of the series "Kamen Rider BLACK SUN", is the one who transforms into Kamen Rider BLACK SUN. At the age of 11, he was implanted with the King Stone by his father, becoming a Kaijin and a candidate for the "Creation King". In 1970s Japan, a period of intense conflict between humans and Kaijin, Kotaro Minami, Nobuhiko Akizuki, and a group of Kaijin comrades formed the anti-discrimination group "Gorgom" to advocate for Kaijin rights, but it disintegrated due to intervention from the Japanese government. Fifty years later, Kotaro lives a life detached from worldly affairs, earning dirty money, until he meets Aoi Izumi, a human girl who speaks up for Kaijin. He then resolves to end the series of tragedies brought about by the "Creation King".
The "S.H.Figuarts Kotaro Minami (Kamen Rider BLACK SUN)" figure utilizes digital coloring technology to faithfully reproduce the facial features of actor Hidetoshi Nishijima. It comes with two interchangeable expression parts and three pairs of sculpted hands. The entire figure is meticulously crafted with characteristic clothing, including his black trench coat. The transformation belt "Sun Driver" part can be attached to his waist. Thanks to the soft material used for the trench coat parts and the highly flexible articulation throughout the body, the figure can recreate his cool transformation poses. Furthermore, accessories include the "Satan Sabre (Final Episode Ver.)", the only weapon capable of destroying the Creation King; "Blazing Heaven", food that enhances Kaijin abilities; and "Life Essence", the Whale Kaijin's ancestral secret medicine – all key items from the story!
